Expeditors, a Fortune 500 global logistics leader, is looking for an Inventory Operations Manager to join our high-performing dedicated account team in Amsterdam. In this newly created role, you will manage inventory controls and drive continuous improvement initiatives for one of our premier global technology clients.
The RoleAs the Inventory Operations Manager, you will be key to driving our global Inventory Stewardship Program. Rather than managing people directly, your primary focus will be project leadership and process optimization. You will take full ownership of inventory accuracy initiatives, root-cause analysis, and risk management across an expansive network of global warehouse locations.
Working on-site alongside the customer's team at Fokker Logistics Park in Amsterdam, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to establish best practices and elevate operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Improvement & Root Cause Analysis: Analyze complex inventory workflows to identify discrepancies, trends, and potential risks. Lead corrective action initiatives using Lean, Kaizen, or Six Sigma methodologies to continuously improve inventory accuracy.
- Project Leadership: Own projects from initiation to completion, establishing best practices across supply chain, operations, procurement, and finance teams.
- Data & Reporting: Generate actionable insights, prepare detailed analytical reports, and present key metrics and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for inventory controls, discrepancies, and operational improvements.
- System Optimization: Partner with IT and Operations to enhance WMS/SAP capabilities and dashboard reporting tools.
- Documentation & Guidance: Provide training, SOP updates, and guidance to operational staff to ensure reporting compliance and operational standard excellence.

Requirements:
- Education & Work Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Must be legally eligible to work in the Netherlands.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or large-scale warehouse operations, including at least 3 years as a specialized Inventory Manager/Specialist.
- Project & Stakeholder Management: 3+ years of proven experience planning, tracking, and leading complex operational projects, alongside strong stakeholder facilitation skills.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in data analysis, inventory management software (WMS/SAP systems), and Google Workspace tools (especially Google Sheets). Knowledge of Kaizen, Lean, or Six Sigma frameworks is a strong plus.
- Mindset & Communication: Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Fluent in English (written and spoken); Dutch is an advantage.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work on-site at Fokker Logistics Park (minimum 3 days a week, with flexibility as needed) and travel occasionally.
