The Role

An important step for the physical distribution of goods is their formal handling. For one of our key accounts, we have a Compliance team onsite at the European headquarters in Amsterdam. This Compliance team ensures that international laws and regulations regarding import and export activities are complied with at all times. The EMEA Compliance Supervisor will be part of a Global Onsite Team supporting one of Expeditor's High Tech clients within an import/export operation. The EMEA Compliance Supervisor is responsible for performing the following duties in a timely and efficient manner:

• Develop and maintain client relationships;
• Manage customs compliance requests through the customer's own ticketing system and ensure a smooth and timely export/import process flow;
• Review and approve trade invoices and shipping documents and analyze complex compliance issues;
• Act as first escalation point for customer questions/problems;
• Internal policies and procedures such as Standard Work Instructions (SWI), external government regulations and customer policies/requirements;
• Oversee and monitor team performance and conduct periodic operational reviews to identify areas of concern in the processes;
• Target and implement process improvements, including SWI's, SOP's.
  
  

What do you bring as an EMEA Compliance Supervisor

• Bachelor's degree;
• Minimum of 2 years related experience in import or export compliance;
• 5 years of experience in logistics;
• Good knowledge of Incoterms;
• You are proactive and have strong organizational skills;
• Proficient in Word, Excel, email and various PC-based software;
• You are fluent in Dutch and English.
